okay, so...food. well, first off, if you want to be dead and skinny i'm not too helpful. can't we have a little control with this? i want to be able to be proud of my body, not dead. therefore, we must sustain our bodies. here is what i've found to be the most important aspects of staying alive.

my biggest pet peeve
okay, here it is. the disclaimer on pro-ed sites always says, "ana is not a diet, mia is not a weight-loss plan," right? okay, so then i enter the site, start navigating around, and what do i find? "what diets work best? south beach? low carb?" anyway, you get it, if ana's not a diet than we don't care. here's the only rule to weight loss that actually works. you ready? you have to consume fewer calories than you burn. simple, huh?

what you really need
so, let's say you're eating, at most, 500 cals/day. let's not make it candy and 7 french fries, shall we? protein is a must. have one veggie sausage patty--around 80 calories, gets your metabolism going. also, an egg on average is anywhere from 75-100 calories, depending on the size. if you boil it, that's all the calories it is, if you fry it in vegetable/olive oil it'll be about 10-20 more. but my point is, you don't have to go to mickyd's to get a little protein in your diet. besides, it'll keep your hair from falling out and your nails from being too brittle.
take a multi-vitamin, i command you. they give you iron, a must if you've still got your periods as you lose it left and right, and well, as they're "multi", they give you bunches of healthiness.
carbs like bread, pasta, etc., are not good snacking foods. i know they basically are the only snack foods, but they are heavy calories and just make you want to eat more. try air-popped popcorn (just 10 cals/cup, and fills you up fast) and rice cakes. interesting rice cake fact i recently learned? (today, in fact...) get the grocery store brand; they are, on average, 10 calories less per serving even if the serving sizes are the same with that and the name brand. i bought safeway rice cakes instead of quaker oat ones, and they're cheaper and better in cals!
try to get in your green leafy veggies. personally i hate them, broccoli makes me gag, but they are really good for you. broccoli, spinach, kale, etc. try a raw spinach salad with light honey mustard dressing; only about 50 cals per tbsp.

how...
eat tactfully and carefully. for instance, if you know you're only going to eat one meal today, eat it in front of someone. (don't go hide in the kitchen because you know how ashamed you "should" be.) then you'll be much more credible; "suzy saw me eat just a few hours ago, not kidding!" like it says in the tips section, cut your food into small bites. very small. i do it geometrically, making little squares or whatever, but then i'm weird :) then, take a sip between each tiny bite. you'll fill up twice as fast and it'll take you longer to finish. you can use the "i got seconds, didn't you notice?" about once a month. (this water sipping and small bites thing also helps if you're planning to purge. i do not recommend this as it's terrible for you, but we all screw up. if it's a fast day and someone made you eat, make sure you've taken in a lot of agua.)
